Ms. Walwyn is Head of the Pensions and Employee Benefits Practice in the Toronto office of Baker & McKenzie LLP. Ms Walwyn advises corporations and other organizations in all areas of pension and employee benefits law, including: plan and fund governance, federal and provincial regulatory compliance, plan administration, pension fund investment, fiduciary duties and obligations.
Donna also advises on executive compensation matters, incentive and stock-based compensation, supplementary retirement plans an and pension and employee benefit issues in the general employment law and unionized context, including mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations and divestitures. Ms. Walwyn also regularly liaises with third party service providers and consultants on behalf of clients.
Ms. Walwyn has represented pension funds, boards of trustees, plan administrators and internal pension committees on pension and other employee benefits matters, and has appeared before the regulatory tribunal on behalf of such clients.
Prior to joining Baker & McKenzie, Ms. Walwyn practiced exclusively in the area of pensions and employee benefits law with a boutique firm in Toronto. Ms Walwyn has a background in pension policy and compliance and prior to the practice of law worked with the provincial pension regulator in a variety of statutory compliance roles.

Education and admission
Ms Walwyn was admitted to practice law in Ontario in 2000. Ms Walwyn is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario (LL.B., 1997) and a first class honours graduate of York University. (B.A. (Hons.)). While in law school Ms Walywn received the Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt Award in Pension Law and the Faculty of Law Foundation Fund Award for Excellence in Advocacy.
