Laura Wilson

Young Lawyers Division Chair

Laura is an articling student at Carranza LLP, where she is learning the practice of civil litigation with a focus on personal injury. She has appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. Laura graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she was a recipient of the 2015 Dean’s Gold Key Award. Laura represented Osgoode in an international mediation competition in London, UK, where she received the first place award as counsel in the individual counsel-client category. In the summer of 2014, Laura was a recipient of the Ian Scott Public Interest Fellowship, and she spent her summer working in London, UK, as a legal intern with a non-profit coalition conducting legal and policy research surrounding police stop and search (carding) practices. Prior to law school, she facilitated an education program for remanded youth inside two detention centres in the GTA. Laura received a full athletic scholarship to play volleyball at Alabama A&M University, where she received a BSc in Physics. She then received her MSc in Medical Biophysics from the University of Western Ontario. Her anticipated year of call to the Ontario Bar is 2016.
