Lionhead Golf Club to Host the
2017 NBI - CABL Golf Tournament in Toronto
Wednesday, August 2, 2017
The Clyde E. Bailey, Sr. and Rapheal M. Prevot, Jr. National Bar Institute Annual Golf Tournament, in partnership with the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers, will be held at the Lionhead Golf Club, 8525 Mississauga Road, Brampton, Ontario, L6Y 0C1 about 26 miles from the NBA Convention hotel, Fairmont Royal York Hotel. The golfing experience on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 will deliver a serene and calming environment, and hopefully a championship trophy!
Located just west of Toronto in Brampton, Lionhead is also home to the Masters Course, and the two courses deliver the most upscale of six Kaneff Golf properties, founded by Bulgarian Ignat Kaneff, a Toronto-area business mogul. He decided to build his own golf clubs after being denied membership at an area private club. Lionhead has established a reputation for excellence. Designed and groomed to excite every level of golfer, Lionhead offers its guests one of Ontario’s finest golfing experiences on two championship courses. In the spring of 2014 a multi-million dollar renovation relaunched the magnificent clubhouse. http://www.kaneffgolf.com/clubs/lionhead/
All golfers, veterans and novice, are welcome and will be paired by Tournament Director Fred Dorse to assure a competitive team. From a value perspective, the registration fee of $225 USD (for US registrants) and $225 CAD (for Canadian registrants) fulfills more than the basics. Included are round-trip transportation from the NBA convention hotel, the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, course fees, golf bag handling, continental breakfast, practice range, 18 holes, full lunch, trophy awards ceremony, and a goody bag filled with treats and treasures. Golf clubs are available for rental. The scenic vistas are also part of the deal!
Please register prior to July 20, 2017, NBI Golf 2017 Toronto Registration, attached, and support the NBI and CABL in their fundraising for programs, scholarships and law student fellowships. The National Bar Institute is a 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization. Hole sponsorships, tournament sponsorships, advertising and donated items for the goody bags (50 or 100 items, please) are also requested.
Buses will depart the Fairmont Royal York Hotel at 6:00 am Wednesday, August 2nd and will return at approximately 3:00 pm. Tee off is at 8:00 am. NBI, NBA and CABL members, friends and guests may register.
