ICC judge: Justice begins with the few

Political leaders have an obligation to the world to treat their citizens well, elevating the principles of justice beyond the interests of a state or individual, according to an International Criminal Court judge speaking at the Law Society of Upper Canada last week.

Evoking a sentiment celebrated by civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., Justice Chile Eboe-Osuji encouraged more than 100 guests at an annual Black History Month reception on Feb. 6 to consider how the pursuit of ‘justice everywhere’ allows for ‘justice anywhere’.
