Background
Sarah obtained her Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy) degree from the University of Alberta in 2006, and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Calgary in 2011. She was called to the Alberta Bar in August 2012 after articling with a national law firm in Calgary, and then remained as an associate with the firm before moving with her family to Edmonton, Alberta in 2013. In Edmonton, Sarah worked in the area of insurance defense litigation before moving to a labour and employment law boutique in 2015 to develop a practice in Employment Law. In 2021, Sarah began her own employment law boutique in Calgary with a partner, called Bow River Law LLP.
Sarah has represented clients at various levels of court in Alberta. She has also represented clients in administrative law hearings, internal tribunals, including the Alberta Human Rights Commission. Sarah is active in the Alberta legal community. In addition to being a Board Member and Chair of the Succession Committee for the CABL Alberta Chapter, she is involved in the legal community as a member of the Canadian Bar Association Alberta Board of Directors, the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association Board of Directors and Seminars Committee, and the LEAD Alberta Board of Directors.
