President
Lorenze Cromwell is an 8th-generation African Nova Scotian, and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Saint Mary’s University, with a major in Criminology and a minor in Sociology. Lorenze is a third-year law Student at Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law and is the current President of the Dalhousie Black Law Students’ Association.
Lorenze is passionate about creating safe spaces for Black and radicalized people within the legal profession, and providing legal advocacy and education for his community. In 2024, Lorenze was awarded the NSBS’s Race and the Law Essay prize, as well as the JSD Tory Writing Award, for a major research paper. Outside of the legal field, Lorenze enjoys athletics, music, and creative writing.
